Towards more sustainable water projects ”Every person has the right to clean and safe water in adequate quantities”

This states the 2010 Constitution of Kenya in its article 43. Everyone has a right to getting sufficient clean water. But do we? Who is responsible and in charge for this?

In the new devolved governance structure of Kenya the county governments are responsible for providing water to the population. However, as resources are scarce, water services in rural communities are mainly provided by community members themselves with the support of NGOs and remain to a large extent unregulated. Historically, even the national and county governments were handing their water projects to be managed by the communities.

FINANCE| A NEW DAWN FOR NGONG DIOCESE

“We are a sum total of what we have learned from all who have taught us, both great and small.”

On 3rd December, 2016, I sat glued on my chair, witnessing the celebration of our Family Day, a jolly moment when as a family we come together for a common purpose.

The Family Day captures the spirit of the early church, oneness, a united Christian community spiritually, socially and economically. St. Paul writes to different communities emphasizing on hard work and the element of sharing, being mindful of the others depicted well in Acts of the Apostles. A similarity to former Tanzania’s President Nyerere governance, ’Ujamaa.
